Tuesday, December 5th will be our next UMW meeting at the church. We’ll be making a craft for our shut-ins. Please join us for a great evening of Christian fellowship, fun and delicious refreshments provided by our hostess.

Book Club

UMW Book Club will meet Monday, November 20th at 1:30 p.m. in the church library. Karen Schuyler will be reviewing the book “Up - A Mother and Daughter’s Peakbagging Adventure” by Patricia Ellis Herr. Please join us for a great time of fellowship and lively discussion! All are welcome!

Soup & Salad Luncheon

The next Soup & Salad Luncheon will be January 26, 2017. Hope to see you in January.

Rummage Sale

Thursday, November 9th 9:00-4:00 and Friday, November 10th  9:00-12:00 (bag day) will be our Fall Rummage/Bake Sale. It’s time once again to put away our summer clothes and clean out our closets! It’s a good time to sort through things and bring any unwanted, gently used clothing, shoes, etc. to our fellowship hall starting Monday, November 6th. We always need children and adult clothing. We also accept linens, household items, holiday decorations, toys, games and books. Please don’t bring over-sized or heavy items because volunteers can’t lift them.  We appreciate any baked goods that people make to be sold at our bake sale during the rummage sale. Please bring baked goods to church Wednesday, November 8th or early Thursday morning November 9th.

Campbell’s Labels for Education

United Methodist Women is still collecting Campbell’s labels for Education. Please cut out the section marked “Labels for Education” and bring them to the church. We’ll count them and send them to the Ruth M. Smith center in Sheffield, PA. The products/brands that can beused are: Campbell’s soups, Pepperidge Farm, Dannon, Prego, Spaghettios, Pace, Swanson (broth & stock), V8 beverages, V8 Splash, and V8 Fusion.

Five times each year, United Methodist Women host a Soup Lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Perhaps you have shown up to eat soup OR maybe you already help prepare soup OR you may already get a call asking you to donate a pie, cake, jello salad, tomato juice or potatoes. If you do one or two or ALL of those things, we THANK YOU VERY MUCH! However, we are thinking there may be some folks who would be willing to donate or help that haven’t been asked yet. If this is the case, please call Sandie Van Volkenburg at 725-4862 or Ruth King at 725-4105 and we will be happy to get you “on the list” for whatever way you would like to help. We appreciate your consideration.

UMW Book Club

Do you like to read? Do you enjoy fellowship and dessert? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, please consider joining our United Methodist Women Book Club!  We meet five times a year on the 3rd Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m.  We take turns facilitating or hosting and always enjoy a lively discussion with one of the books from the United Methodist Reading Program List.  Our group has won the honor the last few years of having the most women reading in their local unit in our Erie-Meadville District!  This is a tremendous accomplishment and shows how serious we are about continuing to focus our attention on current events thereby making us “doers” of  the Word and not just “listeners.”  This year’s readers were: Sally Barbour, Mary Bielak, Cathy Howard, Ruth King, Doris Savidge, Betsy Sceiford, Linda Schroder, Karen Schuyler and Sharon Shaffer.  Speak to any one of us if you have questions or are interested in joining us in 2016.  Our first meeting will be February 15th
