Orange Club Happenings

Orange Family Experience

We kick off a new year of Orange Faith Development with an experience for the whole family on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall. The character of God we will be focusing on in September is “Friendship”. The guiding principles throughout the month will include:

1) “Friends love one another.” Loving our friends often means putting aside what we want to give our friends what they need.

2) “Friends accept one another.” We pray that kids start to realize that regardless of how people dress, what they own, or are called to accept them and show them how much God loves them with our friendship.

3) “Friends forgive one another.” While it’s true that people will do things to hurt us, we need to be willing to let it go and forgive because God forgave us first.

4) “Friends encourage one another.” While kids may not always know what to do or say, we pray that they discover that they can encourage each other even if it simply means being a shoulder to lean on.

The Children’s Ministry continues to collect dimes for Chosen’s medical missions. Every 2 liter bottle filled with dimes, provides the funds to pay for approximately 2 surgeries. When you get change at the store, set aside the dimes. When cashing a check, ask for the coins in dimes. If you find a dime, save it for doctors. It can be easy to drop in a bill or write a check, however, when we deliberately try to collect and save dimes, we’re reminded with each coin of the lives we can help. Bring those dimes and drop them in one of the bottles at church or give them to one of the children and they’ll drop them in.

 Family Worship Services

Families of any age are welcome to join in the church library for a child friendly       worship gathering on the third Sunday each month. This worship is lay, utilizing all ages.   Families have the opportunity to help with scripture readings, offering and serving the Love Feast. Children are encouraged to experience worship at their level and adults still hear a message pertinent to their daily Christian walk.
